About 1 hour
For days when the weather doesn’t allow going out to sea, or simply as a complement to fieldwork, we offer multimedia lectures on life in the sea. The lectures are led by our biologist, with photos, video material and concrete examples from the Adriatic, tailored to the age and prior knowledge of the audience. They’re ideal for schools, clubs, groups and families.
We choose lecture topics based on the group’s interest, most commonly including:
- Seahorses — hidden wonders of the shallows
- Dolphins — the intelligence and social life of the Adriatic’s whales
- Sharks — the truth behind the prejudice
- Sea turtles — the Mediterranean’s endangered travelers
- Octopuses — masters of camouflage and learning
- The Mediterranean — a unique and endangered ecosystem
- Ocean currents — how they drive life in the sea
- Sea pollution — causes, consequences and what we can do
The lecture lasts about an hour and can be arranged on its own or as part of a larger program (e.g. alongside Charlie’s Summer School or shore snorkeling).
